Some of our lab demos for high-school students have been uploaded in our youtube channel
Hokie for a Day for Fifth Graders Formerly known as Kindergarten-to-College (K2C) that the we participated since 2018, Hokie for a Day is a signature field trip event connecting fifth graders from over 10 Virginia Title I local school systems. Through the collaborative effort of CENI, 1000-1200 fifth graders are hosted on VT campus, and we host many of them throughout the semester C-Tech Girls Summer Camp Each summer, high-school girls attends summer camp organized by Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) in Virginia Tech. During the camp, around 25-50 students visit our our laboratories and attend the lectures on biomaterials and drug delivery presented by Dr. Tong. They receive safety training, lab coats, goggles, and gloves to do hands-on experiments that teach concepts in polymers, nanomaterials, drug delivery and nanotechnology. Virginia Tech Science Festival Wealso participates in the CENI-organized VT Science Festival that reaches 3000 to 6000 people from over 10 school systems in western part of Virginia. Kids and adults can actively involve in hands-on experiments and discuss with the researchers, learning many diverse scientific disciplines by watching experimental demos.
